What we are
Mushpot Records is an independent and underground music label interested in releasing twee, pop, electronic, IDM, acoustic and lo-fi artists as well as alternative and theme-specific children's music compilations.
Mushpot Records, was inspired by the Mushpot weekly radio show hosted by Fanny Mcgee (aka Jenn de la Vega) and Reverb (Yawen Chen) on KDVS 90.3FM in Davis, CA. The Mushpot broadcasted stories for all ages as well as new underground music from January 2003 to June 2006. For the 2005 KDVS fundraiser, Jenn decided to make a children's music compilation. Musician friends from around Davis, CA and as far as Japan submitted tracks.
Releases are as small as limited press of 50 or as many as 1000. Compilations are donated to schools and radio stations. Remaining proceeds go to the next themed compilation or project. Please submit demos or design portfolios to:

The Mushpot's first goal is to have fun, we are not here to make money! Second, to expose sub-genres of music to children without being cheesy or mitigating educational messages. Third, to inspire artists to step outside their normal musical bounds with exciting themed compilations. Fourth, to expose audio and visual artists that wouldn't usually be featured in mainstream culture.
Who we are
The Mushpot includes (respectivley) Yawen, Jenn & Gonzalo.

Jenn was the original host of the Mushpot since January 2003 and was joined by Reverb in April of 2004. She organizes cd production and all public relations. She now resides in Brooklyn, NY.
Yawen was the lovely co-host of the Mushpot. She is the webmistress for the Mushpot and currently resides with Jenn in Brooklyn, NY.
Gonzalo designed the Mushpot Records website and currently resides in Davis, California.
