Mushpot Update – Feb 2007

Buildings Breeding is still going strong at college radio! They peaked at #33 and are still fighting the good fight against commercial label bands! Tonevendor sold out of albums when it came out, but thankfully they are restocked and ready to be loved! Copies are also available in our store.

We are working on an exclusive Mushpot SXSW 2007 sampler with all of our upcoming Mushpotters. We’d like to welcome the newest additions to the family: Magic Magic, Chief Briggum, nLn (Nyles Lannon), Little Naps, Superheroes Make Children Cry and b()()lar. We are quite busy for the next two years (gladly, of course!).

Since we are a growing label, Mushpot is seeking an INTERN! Email us your resume along with any other inquiries.

Blogs Brag about Buildings Breeding!

It appears that the internet has fallen in love with the tiny Mushpot’s debut band: Buildings Breeding! Check out what the blogger-elite have to say:

“I cannot say enough great things about Buildings Breeding, but it truly is a debut album that came with little [to no] warning and has taken hold of my heart like nothing in recent memory. If we graded ‘em on a scale, this one would be a solid A.”- SLIGHTLY CONFUSING TO A STRANGER

I absolutely love Chris Larsen’s vocals and the acoustic driven music completely bowls me over every time that I listen to it. Take a moment to sprawl out on the floor with some fancy headphones when you listen to this, I promise it will be worth the effort.” SIDE ONE: TRACK ONE

This low-key, low profile band with an impressively obscure background has dropped their album into the vast ocean of popular music with all the power of a pebble. The ripple is small and subtle, but if you slip off your sneakers and dip your toes in the water Buildings Breeding will delight your whole soul. Their name connotes the roar (or maybe moans) of earthquakes, but their restrained guitar work, soft melodies and gently doubled vocals make up the sweet sighs of dreams. A slight 60s flair and random acts of atmospherics add just the right amount of spice to the songs.”- 3HIVE

“Who can hate on a band that started out as a phony MySpace act, then eventually turned into the real thing?” - IDOLATOR
